Sanibel Maps

East End of the Island

The east end of Sanibel is a narrow stip of land with beaches on each side. It has the old-time charm from being the first area settled and has a unique character.
  • The Lighthouse Cafe, East-End Deli, Rosie's Deli and other stores are just around the corner. The Lighthouse Cafe (472-0303) is great for breakfast or lunch and you can pick up an excellent sandwich at the East-End Deli to take to the beach.
  • Buttonwood Lane joins the beaches on San Carlos Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
  • The historic Sanibel lighthouse and the fishing pier are just a short bike ride away or you can use the pay-and-display parking.
  • The beaches on the causeway are ideal for a great view of the sunsets.

Central Sanibel

There are too many restaurants and shopping centers on Periwinkle Way to list so we will just cover the essentials:
  • The island's two supermarkets are in Jerry's and Bailey's shopping centers. Bailey's also has Video Scene for movie rentals and Island Cinema (472-1701).
  • The Sanibel Historical Village and Museum has many restored buildings and excellent exhibits covering the history of the island.
  • Hopefully you will not need medical treatment, but, it is good to know that the Health Park Clinic on the corner of Periwinkle Way and Casa Ybel takes walk-in appointments (395-1414). There is a CVS Pharmacy on Palm Ridge.

Other Island Attractions

You can see photos of Sanibel in the photo album.
